How do I install Fleet Monitor on my boat?

For basic functionality just connect your Fleet Monitor to your main battery. Additionally, you can connect a service battery and bilge pump.

How does the gas station report work?

After a boat returns to the marina you will receive a report which will tell you when and where the boat has last visited a gas station. You can review the report in the Alerts section in the app.

Which sensors can I connect to Fleet Monitor?

Bilge pump sensor, magnetic sensor, shore power loss, etc.

Can I see the boats on a nautical chart?

Yes, nautical charts can be displayed on a single boat view. Available in the web app only.

How will I be alerted of boats returning to the marina?

When the boat returns to the marina you will receive a push notification in your mobile app.

Is there a custom support available in case I’ll have any additional questions regarding the Fleet Monitor or the installation?

How precise is the GPS tracking?

GPS Tracking frequency is dynamic - it depends on whether the boat is turning, going straight or not moving at all. The resulting tracks are very detailed as can be seen in this image:
For performance reasons the points may be slightly sparser when displaying the routes on your computer, phone or tablet. You can download the full track using the "Download GPX" button on any route in the web app.

How to get started with your new Monitor?

  1. Make sure that you phone or table is connected to Internet
  2. Dowload the Sentinel app from the App Store or Google Play
  3. Open the Sentinel application and click on "Scan QR Code"
  4. Scan the QR code on your new Monitor device
  5. Follow the steps to Register or Login
  6. Follow the instuctions in the application to register the device
  7. The registration should now be complete. After a few minutes (sometimes up to 15mins) the device will start sending data which will be shown in you application.
