Geofence/Anchor

A geofence area around your anchor can be set. When you switch on the anchor alarm and set the perimeter, you will be notified immediately whenever there is a drift outside the designated area.

Benefit over Anchor alarm mobile apps

A variety of mobile apps offer geofencing and some of them are even designed for boaters. Mobile apps use the mobile phone's built in GPS to detect drifting from a preset position. Although convenient, this approach has some serious drawbacks:

Mobile device needs to be on a boat to make this work. Forget taking your phone to the restaurant while leaving an anchored boat in the bay
mobile phone's GPS is not as precise as boat's GPS antenna
having access to boat sensors guarantees unbeatable advantage to a enhanced anchor alarm like Sentinel's
