Sentinel helps our customers to remote monitor their yachts. For example shore power problems are detected immediately, so that the customer can take action before permanent damage is done. The possibility to add manuals to the Sentinel, to have one dedicated application with all yacht related information and documents is very helpful for the end user.

We rely on Sentinel to monitor our charter fleet, particularly to monitor key data such as diesel levels and, most importantly, battery status. The app is invaluable in helping us ensure a smooth rental experience by notifying us if the battery level is too low so we can take proactive action and notify our customers. As for Sentinel, it has everything that a charter company and a boat owner need. We use the position the most to locate ships while they are on charter, to warn them of storms if they are not in a safe harbor, and to monitor their return to their home base. As Yachtcharter Huibers, we are extremely satisfied with Sentinel. Three years ago, Sentinel’s system helped us save the lives of nine guests aboard one of our rental boats. These guests had used an electric grill several times while the boat was off the shore power, which later caused a short circuit in the batteries. When they reconnected to shore power, the batteries began emitting toxic hydrogen sulfide gas. Thanks to Sentinel, we noticed this in time and could immediately instruct the guests to leave the boat.
